Dr. Ceri Higgins is a Senior Lecturer for BA (Hons) Film and Television at London College of Communication, with experience as a writer, director, producer in film and television.
An experienced, versatile filmmaker and academic, with a track record of international programme making in factual and critically acclaimed television drama series, Ceri is also a published author. Her publications include 'Nuevas perspectivas’, a book which examines Mexican national identity and politics in film together with various articles and chapters.
Ceri has an eclectic and diverse career in TV, working across a range of genres and content, from challenging factual productions in high-risk areas, to arts and science documentaries for UK channels. Her recent film, Parkinson Dances, was made in collaboration with medical researchers at the University of Southampton, charities and people living with Parkinsons. The project examined new methodologies for research into the impact and efficacy of dance on people with Parkinson’s. In Mexico, she managed long running telenovelas, such as El vuelo del águila and La antorcha encendida, for Televisa SA de CV.
