Hilly leads the Diploma in Professional Studies (DPS) in the Media School. After an exciting award-winning career as a features editor and writer on national newspapers and magazines, Hilly is using her skills, experience and contacts to help nurture the next generation of Media School students find their way into a very competitive industry.
Hilly is head of mentoring for the leading UK network Women in Journalism, where she oversees a programme that matches every year 100 journalists with expert female colleagues, who support and guide their professional development. Hilly recently stepped down after 10 years as WIJ's head of training and networking events.
A published author, Hilly has three books published, including two on the poet Dylan Thomas, reflecting her Welsh roots (you can take the girl out of Swansea ...) and a book on health and wellbeing.
Hilly is also a lecturer on the school's Journalism and Publishing programme and was recently awarded a Post Graduate Certificate in Academic Practice (PGCert).
