Biography

Matt is an electronic music artist, mix/mastering engineer and Associate Lecturer for the BA (Hons) Music Production course at UAL. Matt has a long history of experience in both Audio and Education.

He obtained a BA (Hons) in Music Technology Specialist from the University of West London (previously TVU) in 2009. After completing his PGCE PCET (post-compulsory teacher training) at the University of East London in 2012 he worked in further education for several years gaining teaching experience and his QTLS qualification. In 2018, he graduated with an MA in Electronic Music Composition from the University of West London. This enabled him to pursue his dream of becoming an Audio Lecturer and Matt now works as a lecturer, guest speaker and private tutor across Essex and London. In 2022 Matt achieved the introductory qualification of Associate Fellow from Advanced HE. As a teacher, Matt's specialisms focus on Recording, Mixing & Mastering, Music Production, Research Skills, Project Management, and Music Project Supervision.

Since 2011, Matt has been producing electronic music as an artist. Releasing this music with labels and independently. Matt’s work has been played on BBC Radio 1, BBC 1Xtra, BBC Asian Network and Noisia Radio. Matt has signed music to Goldie's legendary Metalheadz, Dispatch Recordings, Flexout Audio, Peer Pressure, Sofa Sound, Subtitles and many other labels in both digital and vinyl formats. Matt has DJ'd in many London venues playing his music.

Matt has worked as a mixing engineer on many projects, including Foley-inspired production library music, Drum and Bass, Pop and Folk Blues. His style of mixing audio pays attention to detail and aims to enhance the artist's narratives through production techniques.

Matt is currently developing his skills in mixing in Dolby Atmos and exploring self-imposed limitations and unusual creative briefs to develop his skills in music production.
