Shannon is a design researcher, creative educator, and multimedia artist from the United States. She teaches strategic design on the BA (Hons) Design Management course at UAL, where her focus is on socially engaged, participatory approaches to research and innovation.
Her work explores how design can support systems change, particularly around themes of care, sustainability, and community. She’s led immersive, multi-sensory research projects that center lived experience to make services, spaces, and products more equitable and sustainable.
Shannon has previously worked in creative consulting at Deloitte, in design research at the Royal College of Art, and as a lecturer across several of the UK’s leading art and design institutions. Her practice spans a wide range of sectors, including public services, health, climate justice, and community organising. She has collaborated with start-ups, cultural institutions, and government bodies on projects ranging from inclusive service design to speculative environmental futures. Alongside teaching, she continues to work independently, using art and design to explore and respond to complex social and ecological issues.
