Explore our Postgraduate Showcase from Thursday 28 January as we celebrate inspiring new work across design, media and screen.
Faced with uncertain times, our graduating class of designers, thinkers and makers have been able to adapt and innovate with true creativity.
With projects spanning both physical and digital worlds, their work reflects thoughtful and experimental approaches to creative communications, and has the potential to shape the future of industry while driving wider cultural change.
Our Postgraduate Showcase builds on an online platform first made possible with the support of IBM. Designed with a look and feel consistent with the recent UAL website redesign, it enables the work of our graduates to be explored and enjoyed by a diverse range of audiences across the globe.
This year, the Showcase is complemented by a visual identity developed by graphic designer, artistic director and LCC graduate, Jens Wolter, who chose to explore the relation of type and space through a modular graphic design language of interlocking forms.
"The purple colour is a complementary reflection on LCC's common use of yellow, while the delicate language presents student work without interfering," he said.
"This identity is a response to a year of disruption, and offers a sense of order in chaos."
Our celebration of student work is joined by an upcoming programme of digital events, which has been carefully curated to share key insights from our College community while reflecting on the importance of creativity in time of collective flux.
From Thursday 28 January – Wednesday 3 February, LCC staff, students and industry guests will host virtual events including seminars, screenings and panel discussions to explore the future of the creative industries, and to highlight the ways our graduates have already begun to make their mark on the world.
Natalie Brett, Head of London College of Communication and Pro Vice-Chancellor of University of the Arts London, highlighted the fantastic achievements of a graduating class who have been divided by place but unified in determination.
"Although our postgraduate students have been faced with some extraordinary circumstances, they’ve developed work that reflects an incredible amount of talent, resilience and skill," she said.
"Working hard from their homes across the world, they’ve been able to ask important questions, collaborate with their peers, and think about the importance of creative communications: both in the present moment, and in the future to come.
We’re really excited to introduce their work to global audiences. To our graduating students: congratulations! You are the future and the legacy of London College of Communication."
