London College of Communication has won a Fedrigoni Top Award for the branding and identity of LCC Degree Shows 2017 – created by graduate Nina Jua Klein.
Nina, a graduate of LCC's Design School, took inspiration for the branding from the College's history of training students for the print industries.
Nina said: "Considering the design for the 2017 LCC Shows was a celebration of the college’s print history, it is particularly wonderful to have received the special prize given by HP Indigo at the Fedrigoni Top Awards, honouring projects which make use of their print technology in innovative ways.
"Fedrigoni Top Awards honour not only the designer, but also the client and printer of each winning project, recognising that a successful project relies on a strong working relationship between all parties."

The winning guide was printed on detachable strips of colour paper hung from pegs on the walls, with a different colour for each of LCC's schools – Design, Media and Screen.
Using special software developed by HP Indigo, the text on each sheet could be printed in a different position by progressively increasing the portion of the title printed at the top and bottom of each sheet to create a kinetic effect. This was a practical and innovative way to communicate with the exhibition's young audience.
Klein worked closely with Paul Regan, at the printing company FE Burman, himself an alumni while the college was the London College of Printing. They developed a system which would bring to life the continuous movement that runs through the identity.
