"Artificial Intelligence in the Product Design Process explores the enhancement possibilities of AI technologies in the product design process and development of a concept to make this knowledge accessible to product designers. Triggered by the prominent discussions around the term ‘Artificial Intelligence’ (AI), the initial question arose how product design is affected.
"The aim of this thesis is to further the inclusion of currently available AI technologies in the product design field. For this, the possibilities of AI technologies in the product design process are explored and a concept to make this knowledge accessible to designers and design managers is developed.
"The outcome envisions a website that provides an overview of the product design process steps and how currently available AI technologies can add value to them. To continuously extend the overview with new AI breakthroughs and exemplary experiences with the tools, a platform concept is developed that allows contributions by users."
